Common Core State Standards

Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are an updated set of curricular standards that have been developed with the intention of unifying curricula and standards across all 50 states. Schools in California will teach to these standards beginning with the 2014-15 school year. For more information click here EGUSD - Common Core State Standards .

For a summary of the CCSS in a short 3 minute video, please click on the following link CCSS Video .  This video was presented on our morning bulletin for all of our students to see.

Currently, the staff at Franklin High has been participating in professional development provided by the district, site, and outside programs to effectively assist in implementing these new standards.

CSU EAP Results & EPT/ELM test information

If you plan to attend a California State University there are assessment tests required for both English and Math (EPT/ELM). The deadline is April 17th to sign up for the LAST TEST at Sac State on May 2nd.  The Senior Disney Land Trip is on May 2nd.  If  you are planning to go, be sure to register for an earlier test date.   To sign up see website attached below -Choose "Find test locations and dates", then proceed to "Register for Test."   (To see which assessment test(s) you need to take see EAP Results at the website attached below and check your SAT Math (exempt if 550 and above) and Critical Reading Scores (exempt if 500 and above)

Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C.

Student Leaders recognizes those who lead and serve in
their own communities and beyond. Bank of America will connect
Student Leaders to tools and resources that will help them make
communities better.
As a Student Leader, you will:
• Work as a paid intern at a local nonprofit for eight weeks
• Attend the week-long Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C.
• Develop leadership and career skills

CDA Cares - March 27 & 28

Services offered include cleanings, fillings, extractions, stayplates (temporary partial dentures), dentures, oral health education and assistance in finding a dentist for ongoing care. Clinic doors will open at 5 a.m. each day so that treatment can begin at 6:30 a.m.

Cal State East Bay Education Summit

An event for First Generation, African American, Latino, Asian American, Native American, and Pacific Islander students and their Families

Saturday, January 31, 2015

Event Highlights Include:

  • Educational, college and career related workshops for Middle, High School and Community College students and their families
  • College and resource fair, including representatives from CSU campuses, community colleges and community vendors
  • Free lunch, parking & shuttle for BART riders
